Disposable Curtains and Blinds

Who buys from All in One Medical?”

The selection and purchasing of clinically critical interior furnishing and cleaning products is increasingly being done under the direction of the hospital Head of Infection Control.  People in these highly responsible and significant roles take both a strategic, and day to day interest in the whole system of prevention and protection.
They are concerned to drastically reduce the risks, and do everything they can to prevent large scale outbreaks, and to protect and treat individual patients.
We see less and less of the old syndrome of procurement personnel buying curtains and other materials solely on price, and more and more of these purchases being considered to be a vital part of the whole system of Infection Control.

What are the benefits of investing in disposable curtains ?”

All in One Medical disposable curtains make a significant contribution to the health and safety of staff, by being hygienic and convenient to handle, and able to be changed easily.  There is no need to wait to deploy pre-planned teams to change contaminated curtains – All in One Medical disposable curtains are extremely effective at eliminating the growth of bacteria with an impressive log 7 (99.99999%) reduction.  Ward staff can therefore easily maintain the protected environment by changing the curtains regularly.

What is All in One Medical’s future strategy for identifying and developing new products ?

All in One Medical has four guiding principles when considering the development of new products and services. Patient safety and patient care: using new bio-technology capabilities to provide cost-effective protection and infection prevention for patients, and their supportive communities of friends, family and carers. We believe that visiting should be enabled, rather than resisted, in order to be a safe and vital part of the healing process, instead of being viewed as a just a contamination risk.

Caring for staff: We aim to create a clean, safe, and healthy workplace enabling staff to be patient-diligent, reducing the risk of infection, and the incidence of socially-isolating ‘barrier nursing’.

Providing a more complete and personal infection protection system: The patient is the primary element in All in One Medical’s protection process, and it is possible to protect them, and their carers and family, at every touch point with the hospital environment.
All in One Medical will strive to find practical and simple solutions to resolve currently unprotected areas of risk e.g. patient visitors chairs, door and tap handles, to create what we call a Safe Haven for healing.

Creating a less clinical, more healing environment: Most patients can’t wait to get home, to the environment they feel the most comfortable in, and where they believe they can heal in private.  All in One Medical will endeavour to create a clinically excellent, but not clinically-daunting environment, especially for children and young people, by offering decorated and customized curtains and bed protection.

Do All in One Medical’s curtains cost more than conventional curtains ?

All in One Medical offers a range of disposable curtains to meet customer needs.  That said, we recommend fantex coated  range of anti-microbial curtains proven to kill bacterial pathogens for up to 18 months (log 7).  The unit price for our curtains is very competitive, and the total cost of ownership for a given ward over a period of a year compares very favourably with other curtains.
There are a number of other costs associated with cleaning, disposal and replacement of conventional curtains, and they also carry a massively greater risk of allowing infection to spread. One study concluded that each case of a HAI costs £25,000 to treat, causing further trauma to its victims, and diverting scarce resources away from the treatment of unpreventable conditions. Another study showed that 99,000 people died from HAI’s in the USA in 2007, and that aside from the tragic preventable loss of life, this cost the healthcare industry $38.5 billion.

Who else sells anti-microbial curtains ?

Other organizations claim to offer infection protection through their products.  Some are selling products that do not actually provide any effective protection.  Some are claiming All in One Medical’s products as their own.  Rest assured that we are, in fact, the only company to hold the patents for it’s protection products, and therefore the only company in a position to legitimately supply them to you.

What is the difference between other ‘anti-microbial’ products and All in One Medical's curtains ?

Bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal are both terms that relate to microbial growth. They are antimicrobials that include anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic compounds. Bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal differ from each other by how they affect the bacteria.
A bacteriostat is a compound that keeps bacteria from reproducing. It does not kill bacteria if they are already present, but it keeps their number from increasing. A bactericide, on the other hand, is a compound that kills bacteria. If a product already is contaminated with bacteria, the addition of a bacteriostat may slow the growth but will not kill the existing bacteria. To kill existing bacteria, a bactericide must be added for which we hold the patent for.
